LMS PTSA student engagement ambassadors (s.e.a)

who are we?

Student Engagement Ambassadors are a select group of LMS students who help welcome, support, and engage their peers throughout the school year. These students serve as positive role models, event helpers, and student‑voice representatives for the PTSA’s engagement initiatives.

They are the bridge between students and the PTSA — helping us understand what students want, what they enjoy, and how we can create meaningful, fun, and inclusive experiences.

our purpose

  • Build a welcoming environment for all students
  • Encourage participation in school activities and PTSA events
  • Provide student perspective to improve programming
  • Strengthen school spirit and community connection
  • Lead meaningful service that impacts the school and local community

what we do

  • Lead the annual community service project
  • Assist with PTSA events and student activities
  • Share ideas and feedback on student‑focused programs
  • Promote kindness, inclusion, and positive school culture
  • Serve as peer leaders who help make LMS feel connected and supportive

Community Service Leadership

The biggest responsibility of the Student Engagement Ambassadors is leading the PTSA’s annual community service project. Ambassadors partner with the Community Outreach Committee to choose the project, plan it, and complete it during the school year. They will also review the outreach budget and help determine how funds should be used to support the project. This hands‑on experience teaches leadership, teamwork, and responsible decision‑making while allowing students to make a meaningful impact on the school or local community.

Student Voice & Collaboration

Ambassadors collaborate with the PTSA Executive Board to share student perspectives and recommend activities and engagement opportunities that reflect what students want to see throughout the year. They assist at PTSA events, promote inclusion, and help create a positive environment for all students.

The Ambassador team meets once a month for one hour after school to plan the community service project, discuss student feedback, and prepare for upcoming PTSA activities. Students selected for this role demonstrate leadership, responsibility, and a commitment to serving their school community.

Who Can Become an Ambassador?

Ambassadors are students who demonstrate:

  • Leadership
  • Responsibility
  • Positive attitude
  • Willingness to help
  • Strong communication skills

Students may be nominated by teachers, recommended by staff, or volunteer with parent permission.
